The “Graying of America” is a new term describing the ability of Americans to live longer, well into their 80s, 90s and even past the century mark. Public awareness of how this affects families and relationships is not often discussed openly and adult children often have little information regarding what to do when their parent(s) can no longer live alone. Having to make decisions without information and/or guidance can be overwhelming, and a sense of guilt is frequently a factor as well.
